New Seals and Gaskets are making iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus more water proof then you may be thinking

iFixit gave teardown treatment to iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus just after they get launched and unveiled all information related with hardware including, 3D Touch, Taptic Engine, Processor and RAM.

Like every year the Apple Fans and many popular YouTubers did water test on iPhone and get extremely surprised by the result and this Forced iFixit to refocus the iPhone 6s's teardown with a whole new Focus on components that are making iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus more waterproof. And they found a 0.03mm thicker strip of glue that act as a Gasket surrounding entire inside edge of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and iFixit says "
it was designed to keep liquids out ".
First, Apple takes this gasket business pretty seriously: they didn’t just run a strip of glue around the existing display like they were caulking a bathtub. Instead, it appears the iPhone’s frame has been subtly reworked to accommodate the new gasket. We noted a slight, but measurable, increase in the width of the lip running along the perimeter of the frame—it’s about 0.3 mm wider than on the iPhone 6, making it just wide enough for that little gasket to land on.

One-third of a millimeter may not seem like much, but given how tight the iPhone’s tolerances are nowadays, the change is big enough to see with the naked eye. And it’s almost certainly enough of a change that other components had to be subtly tweaked to match. Make no mistake, Apple gave this careful thought. "

Even the Logic board, Cable connectors on the board, battery, display, buttons and the lightning port is also protected with a material that defend Water attacks, all these Components are surrounded and reinforced with a small silicone barrier. But they pointed out many connectors are open to water but they are within the body so this fact defends against water damage.

But the rest of the internal components of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus like, HeadPhone jack, Power, Speaker and volume button didn't showed any kind of waterproofing, So thats why Apple didn't advertise iPhone as water proof.

Do you think Apple can make a water proof iPhone without Port Caps ?
