According to the latest reports, Apple is going to fix some serious OS X Yosemite flaws "as soon as possible"

Lately, a bug named Thunderstrike 2 was discovered, that allows attackers overwrite a computer’s firmware in a way that isn't possible to alter, users have to open their Mac and manually reflash the chip.

The other one is a “privilege escalation” bug, also known as DYLD, that allows a program to obtain administrator access without entering the passwords.

The Thunderstrike 2 needs users to have Thunderbolt devices, which are necessary to spread the worm, on the other hand DYLD has the possibility to affect many more users. Presently, Apple actually patched Thunderstrike 2.

According to the Guardian newspaper, “Apple has taken interim measures to prevent further exploitation of the vulnerability, including revoking the credentials of developers who use it, and including any app which does so on the company’s regularly updated list of malware.”

We recommend installing any security updates from Apple instantly.
