iPad mini 4 has best Display ever, iPad Pro and iPad Air 2 displays are not bad
DisplayMate says "unquestionably the best and most accurate LCD tablet display we've ever tested" giving it the higher marks than the iPad Pro with the resolution of 2732 x 2048. iPad Pro didn't perform bad and got nearly excellent marks. iPad Air 2 was also good and considered in top level displays, but its was less than iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro and it's obvious as its was a 2014 launch and yet it's not updated from Apple.
All the iPads have nearly same maximum brightness, but on the maximum contrast ratio in brightest white and darkest black is overwhelmingly true on all the iPads, but best on the iPad Pro. iPad mini 4 has the True Contrast Ratio of 967, the iPad Air 2 has the True contrast ratio of 1,064 and the iPad Pro has the true contrast ratio of 1,631 which is highest contrast ratio ever seen on an LCD tablet display.
iPad mini 4 has the best color gamut with the score of 101 percent while iPad Air 2 stood on the second position by scoring 105 percent and throwing the iPad Pro on the Last with the score of 107 color gamut while 100 percent is the best and most accurate color gamut. On color accuracy, different was not big and iPad Pro and iPad Air was also good although iPad mini won the test.
But heading to the Screen reflectance, DisplayMate declared that all the three iPads are unbeatable for performance in ambient light. iPad mini 4 has the most less reflection, but the other two were also too close. But on measuring contrast in ambient light iPad Mini 4 again won the battle with the score of 225, iPad Air 2 scored 166 and iPad Pro scored 163.
iPad Pro's display remained most power efficient display due to the metal oxide backplane while iPad mini 4 won the title of best iPad Display ever from DisplayMate.
