"It's a huge number and we're very proud of it," Tim Cook said.
Though, Reasons for such large number of Android users switching to iPhones have yet to be discovered. Meanwhile, Apple has been vigorously seeking to get the attention of Android users. For example, Apple back in June announced an app named "Move to iOS" for transferring data from an Android device to an iOS device. The app was published in the Android Play Store about a month. Apple has been trying to grab those Android users with phablets by introducing a larger iPhone 6s and unique features like Force Touch and enhanced camera hardware and software.
“What this means is that for customers who purchased an iPhone last quarter and replaced a smartphone, 30 percent of those switched from an Android device,” said Tim Cook.
He also said, “There would’ve been some switchers from other operating systems, but Android is the largest one by far. That number is the largest we’ve ever recorded since we began measuring it three years ago. We’re very proud of that number.”
Due to the increasing number of Android switchers the company is very happy and is expecting to have strong sales in the first quarter of 2016.
"We have a very open field in front of us," Tim Cook said.Allegedly, Apple quarterly earnings were of $51.5 billion and a net profit of $11.1 billion. The fruit company roughly sold a total of 48.04 million iPhones, 9.88 million iPads, and 5.71 million Macs.
